Our committee is dedicated to facilitating meaningful learning and field trip opportunities in the field of aviation and aerospace to the children of His House Children’s Home. For older children in the adolescent stage, we aim to introduce them to the field of aerospace science as well as foster their interest in aviation.
Goals & Objectives
Our program is structured around short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals to provide sustained engagement and learning opportunities.
Short Term Goals: Garner Interest
1. Visit to Wings Over Miami Museum: Organize a tour for the children to explore aviation history and technology, fostering initial enthusiasm and understanding of aviation.
2. Guest Speaker- Commercial Pilot: Arrange for a commercial pilot to speak to the children about career paths in aviation, the basics of flying, and personal experiences from the field.
a. Christine Rupert – Pilot for American Airlines 777
b. Miami Airport: Pilot inspires future women in aviation.
Mid-Term Goals: Exciting Field Trips
1. Air Show: Plan a day trip to a local air show where children can witness aerobatics, static aircraft displays, and meet professional pilots.
2. Cape Canaveral: Organize a visit to Cape Canaveral to learn about space exploration and aerospace technology.
3. Airport & Plane Tour: Plan a day trip of the airports with a tour of a plane and airplane hangar.
4. Flight Simulator Training: Provide hands-on flight simulator sessions to introduce basic flying techniques and the principles of aircraft.
Long Term Goals May Include:
1. First Flight Experience: Work in collaboration with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and seek other sponsors through local businesses and aviation enthusiasts to fund first flight experiences for the children, allowing them to experience flying first-hand.
2. Stem Center Contributions: As the ART program is working towards building out a STEM center, we would identify sponsors willing to contribute resources or funding to enhance STEM learning facilities with an emphasis in aviation and aerospace.
3. Flight School Sponsorship: Initiate fundraising efforts to sponsor interested children & graduates of His Housein obtaining formal flight training.
Implementation Plan:
3. Partnerships: Build an outline of potential partnerships with local aviation businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations.

Conclusion
We aspire to make “Aviation & Aerospace Aspirations: Building Brighter Futures” initiative more than just a program; it is a launchpad for dreams and a beacon of possibility for the children at His House Foster Home. By introducing them to the inspiring worlds of aviation and aerospace, we aim not only to educate and entertain but also to inspire and empower.
We believe that by giving these young minds a taste of the skies—whether through the hands-on thrill of a flight simulator, the inspiring tales from a commercial pilot, or the breathtaking spectacle of an air show—we can open new horizons and encourage them to dream bigger.
We believe this initiative aligns seamlessly with the mission of His House to offer enriching experiences that broaden perspectives and enhance the lives of foster children. Through this program, we hope to show that despite any turbulence they may have encountered in life, their futures can soar high and bright. With the generous support of sponsors and the community, we are committed to making these opportunities not just dreams, but reality.
We hope to help build a brighter future where the sky is not the limit but just the beginning.
